My thoughts on Gambling Ads!

Gambling ads ban to be scrapped

When are we finally going to pass a law on how to wipe your ass? Do you know how much toilet paper we waste in this country? Think of the emotional harm brought to our young people fondling their behinds excessively? Think of the environmental harm we are doing by cutting down all the trees to wipe our collective behinds?

Why stop with telling people what they can do? Why not publish a book on how everything should be done. That sounds like a ‘free’ country now, doesn’t it?

Wait, They have published books on this The Bible and the Quran!

What happened to Freedom, what are we fighting for all over the world? To bring the world under a collective control? Sounds more like religious restriction and control than freedom to me!

Isn’t that what Jihad is?

The age of consent, should vote

Here is a novelty, if the decision on the age of consent should be lowered, why not let the citizens most affected by the decision be allowed to vote on the subject. Why not lower the voting age to 16 and put the decision up to the people. That would let the TD’s and Dail off the hook for any hard decisions that might affect their reign.

Passing the buck to the church, given their way, everyone will not permitted sex, at all! What’s good for priests, are good enough for the general population. How normal is that, no thanks.

The reality of he situation is, some 16 year olds are criminals, having nasty sex, in defiance of the law. The real issue is really education, no one in this puritanical country wants to educate the kids about sex, sexual health, and the emotional issues associated with sex.

Time for this culture to growup and find out where babies really come from.

Making illegality legal?

The lame duck Republicans are attempting to make the illegal violation of the 4th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, legal!

Republicans who limped back to Washington for a lame duck congressional session last week found a host of marching orders from President Bush, but perhaps none more urgent than this: Before Democrats take control of Congress in January, they must pass legislation authorizing the National Security Agency’s domestic eavesdropping program.

The real question will be how, even with the biased right wing Supreme Court, will you justify further violations to the constitution. How will Bush and his fellow future prisoners GOP republicans lie to convince the American public that being illegal is, really Legal?

The Code of Hammurabi should still work.

The code is often pointed to as the first example of the legal concept that some laws are so basic as to be beyond the ability of even a king to change. By writing the laws on stone they were immutable. This concept lives on in most modern legal systems and has given rise to the term written in stone.

One of my favorite laws from this codex goes like this;

If a builder builds a house, and constructs it well, the owner will pay two shekels for each surface of the house.
If, however, he does not succeed, and the house falls in, killing the owner, the builder will be killed.
If the son of the owner dies, the son of the builder shall be killed.

In my previous post the Business community has sought to roll back the commonsense of such laws. Laws incorporated in the U.S. Constitution, the Magna Carte and even the Bible.

Big business has sought for years to create the power and privilege of ‘The Corporate Body’ or the right of the Corporation to have, and exercise, the same rights as a person. Now they are seeking to make that person, that corporate person, greater than a living person. That when they build a building and it kills the owner that they are exempt from punishment. And that when Enron collapsed the Corporate Body is not responsible. Only the maker of the bricks, should be killed.

And the Code that was once written in stone (now on that ‘god dammed piece of paper’ of the U.S. Constitution) president Bush and the GOP, the ‘defenders’ of this document are continuing it’s destruction by agreeing with this mindset. They believe that corporations are godlike, and are above the law. In that case we should not condem the Government, we should condemn the brick-maker, Bush, for the crimes of a collapsing United States?

Sounds good to me!

America, now a Tyranny

Now that the U.S. is faced with the Death of Habeas Corpus: Freedom is now a distance memory. I am reminded of some favorite quotations

“If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy”

and

“Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpation”

Both from this man

James Madison, American 4th US President (1809-17), and one of the founding fathers of his country. 1751-1836

Gay Pedophile Republicans are anti-Gambing

As for the “must have legislation” in the Republican congress GOP Gay Pedophile Tom Foley is less important than an Internet gambling ban bill in the eyes of the Republican Leadership.

Which do you rate higher, Child molesters, or poker players?

How do you like the Moral GOP pushing their morality on the american people?

UPDATE: Looks like the Republican morals are intack, they really only needed to be bribed with enought money or; How horse racing avoided new US internet betting law

Irish Rights gets visibility

Digital Rights Ireland has gained new visibility in this article Digital rights activists take aim at EU data laws And more power to them. It’s about time that the governments of EU remember who they work for, the citizens of the EU.

As in the words of V ‘people shouldn’t be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their citizens’

GOP vs The U.S. Constitution

As usual the GOP is fighting the notion that the U.S. Constitution is anything more than just that ‘dammed piece of paper’ that Bush likes to refer to. When they are forced to oppose the constitution, they make this out to be a partisan issue, like when a Ruling Against Wiretaps Further Sharpens Partisan Divide. It’s really very simple, Republicans are attempting to overturn the Constitution, and the rest of the country are trying to defend the Constitution. If that’s what the republicans call partisan, lets hope we can drive the monarchist out of control of the government in the fall.
