Truth Justice and the American Way

Often I wonder about the American Ideal, the image I grew up with, the one I remember from Superman. And while this isn’t about some comic book character. Deep down, I always wished that was the way it should be.

I can not tell you how disappointed I have been with the current crop of politicians and their war on the American Ideal. They have managed over the years to subvert all the goodness, and replace it all with buzz word Ideas and word spins. They have managed to produce the political slogan that like that lost song, that from time to time, just won’t leave your thoughts. And maybe it’s not a great song, but it takes on a life of it’s own.

Such is the political tripe that makes good deeds look bad and foul business smell sweet. I long for a simpler time, the remembrance of Supermen, and American Ideals.

The fix is in. Republicans 1, Katrina victims 0

Well it looks like the Republicans have the fix in, an opinion in the central states is this.

It’s their own Damn fault if the ignorant fools stayed in New Orleans. It’s time that they took responsibility for themselves.

If that doesn’t sound like a Republican line. I couldn’t think of a better one. Except that is the opinion of my own brother in Kansas. And I can’t believe that he would repeat such Republican propaganda.

F*** Bombs and Innovation

With all the F*** Bombs falling out of Microsoft is it any wonder that there is so much talk about the impending implosion of Microsoft?

With leadership of this caliber, what would you expect, Vision? Innovation? Vista? This kind of attitude is indicitive of the bully, striking out at what they themselves can not provide.

What next for poor Struggling Microsoft?

Action

Several years ago an Old Irishman walking his dog, heard my American accent while I was getting on a Bus. And tapped me, and ask ‘What are you going to do about this Bush fellow?’ This was before the Iraq war. And at that time I told him that I didn’t vote for him. But now maybe I can do more now.

Outsourcing India

My Indian Buddy tells me that Indian outsourcing company’s are having a hard time finding qualified IT staff. And that the search is draining staff from all the other tech areas of India. That includes Science, the Universities, and Hospitals. Any one who can do IT is being hired away with tempting salaries.

On another front, while the Indians are worried about the lose of Manufacturing jobs to China, that don’t appear to be very worried about IT jobs moving to China. As they believe that Superior english skills in India will give them an edge.

Impeach Bush!

Let me be the first to state it out loud. Impeach Bush! George W. Bush campaigned on the grounds that he could protect the U.S.A. from danger both foreign and domestic. And he has failed to live up to his responsibilities!

And in the words of Harry S. Truman. The Buck Stops Here! Mr. President.

(Update, I seem to one voice in Many, common sense seems to be more widespread than I thought)

Katrina as an Act of God

The additude I hear from most politicians of the religious right is one of Katrina being an Act of God. Something to run from, nothing you can do about. This colors everything they do or think. It’s coming, RUN! not let’s prepare, check food supplies, call out the guard, inspect the dikes. Katrina was already ranked as the largest storm in 30 years. Did no one think about the dikes? The Bush said personally, that no one expected the dikes to break. But his was a storm greater than any before, and no one could think out of the box?

The ‘Act of God’ thing colors everything, from Katrina, to Global Warming, of which Katrina is a result. Global warming is an Act of God, not of man, we can do nothing. Katrina is an Act of God we can do nothing.

Time to change tack, time to change attitude, time to change governments.
