{"id":1715,"date":"2010-06-08T17:04:39","date_gmt":"2010-06-08T16:04:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.branedy.net\/?p=1715"},"modified":"2010-06-08T17:04:39","modified_gmt":"2010-06-08T16:04:39","slug":"smartphones-in-the-reality-distortion-field","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.branedy.net\/?p=1715","title":{"rendered":"SmartPhones in the reality distortion field."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have had a revelation with regards to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Smartphone\"> SmartPhones <\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reality_distortion_field\"> Reality Distortion Field<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Simply put, if the device, <em>any device<\/em>, that does not behave like a profit generating platform for Apple, should not be considered a Smartphone.<br \/>\n<center><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/3\/3e\/Smartphone_share_2009_full.png\"\/><br \/>\n<\/center><br \/>\nPlatforms based  on <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Symbian\">Symbian OS<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/BlackBerry\"> BlackBerry <\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Windows_Mobile\"> Windows <\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Palm_OS\"> Palm<\/a> and  are based on a principal that the phone provides smart services to help the owner become more productive. To assist with the communications and telephony functionality and on the side, provide other useful apps. For the newly renamed <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IOS_(Apple)\">iOS<\/a> the goal is looping the customer into more expenses, locking them into Apple products, and Apple&#8217;s iPhone Ecosystem. To behave as a continuous advertisement and mobile marketing stream. A profit stream that even <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Freebie_marketing\"> Razor Blade Salesmen<\/a> would love.  <\/p>\n<p>Sorry not for me, even <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Android_(operating_system)\"> Android&#8217;s<\/a> more subtle marketing of <a href=\"http:\/\/google.com\/\">Google<\/a> is too much for me. If you are new here, you can be excused for not knowing that I use an <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Open_source\"> Open Source<\/a> phone called the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nokia_N900\">Nokia N900<\/a>.
