{"id":2130,"date":"2011-06-04T10:55:40","date_gmt":"2011-06-04T09:55:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.branedy.net\/?p=2130"},"modified":"2011-06-04T10:55:40","modified_gmt":"2011-06-04T09:55:40","slug":"browser-stats-internet-exploder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.branedy.net\/?p=2130","title":{"rendered":"Browser Stats &#8211; Internet Exploder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have been observing a vast increase in traffic, traffic without apparent purpose, over the last several weeks.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.branedy.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Branedy-7days.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.branedy.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Branedy-7days.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"Branedy-7days\" width=\"582\" height=\"173\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2131\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.branedy.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Branedy-7days.png 582w, https:\/\/www.branedy.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Branedy-7days-300x89.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 582px) 100vw, 582px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And I didn&#8217;t give it much thought. However I now know that its <a href=\"http:\/\/onlinehelp.microsoft.com\/bing\/\">MSNBot<\/a> a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bing.com\/\">Bing<\/a> Robot that is deeply scanning all my postings. But it&#8217;s not very thorough. <\/p>\n<p>And then the evidence, it&#8217;s telling my site that it is using <a href=\"http:\/\/windows.microsoft.com\/en-US\/internet-explorer\/products\/ie\/home\">Internet Explorer<\/a> as the browser. It not telling me it&#8217;s a search engine or a spider, it pretending to <strong>BE<\/strong> a browser to the statistics recorder on my site as a <strong>Internet Explorer<\/strong> browser.   Internet Explorer has been declining in the statistics over the past few years, and it now seems that Microsoft is attempting to drive that number up on websites around the country to indicate an increase in Popularity for Internet Explorer. <\/p>\n<p>Has anyone else see this in their site statistics?<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been observing a vast increase in traffic, traffic without apparent purpose, over the last several weeks.
