Election Terrorism

Funny how an Election year where the GOP, Lie and Die party are in trouble, manages to bring out the terrorist in the U.S.

US foils ‘New York tunnel plot’

And even funnier how all that so called illegal surveillance at AT&T is now justified.

The alleged plot was discovered during routine monitoring of internet chatrooms used by extremist groups.

What’s the Terrorist alert level now? Double Orange, or super duper Red?

What will be really scary is that when the polling numbers for the Republicans continues to drop, that “Suspension of the election will be instituted to Protect the Public” will become a real option for the GOP.

  1. One could conclude that:
    1) that they did not need this if that already knew that it was a known (chat) meeting point.
    2) that there had only been talk about that ‘attack’, which believe it or not is not illegal.
    3) that the coincidence of this is a bit too convenient just before an election cycle.
    4) that if they caught one of the the terrorist and he just so happens to be involved with al-Qaeda

Too many bits of good news.

  2. I noticed that as well. Republican strategists decided earlier this year (well, at least that’s when it was made public) that they needed to stress “national security” to win the midterm congressional elections. Wouldn’t you know it, they’ve been able to put together a “win” in the “war on terrorism” for the media to eat up. The more detail you find about the situation, however, the less important it seems. A bunch of people were talking in an internet chat room about how easy it would be to bomb the PATH train, and that’s extrapolated into them being a Large and Fearsome Al Qaida Cell. Doesn’t seem like a big terror plot to me.

This post is brilliant, thanks branedy.
