Another mucker for Zanzibar
With all the violence of late, I am reminded of a novel Stand on Zanzibar. It should be required reading, and was a Hugo winner in 1969. But it introduces a concept of the Mucker, a person that is running ‘Amok’ out of control. The cause, in the book, is attributed to social pressure, population explosion and the general degradation of the personal, environmental, social and political world. I’m sure there will be many reasons given for each of these current events, none will be adequate and no one will be satisfied with the answers.
WoW! A positive step to restore trust.
The Gardaà raid offices of Anglo Irish Bank in Dublin in the first positive step in restoring confidence in the Irish Government. It’s a shame that that it took almost violent public outcry from the people to stir action from the lame corrupt ministers. It’s also a shame that any incriminating evidence has probably been destroyed and disposed of.

Brian Lenihan, should be fired! Plain and simple, because he does NOT understand the terms or meaning of GOVERNMENT. Today in an interview he mentioned that the banks were not being bailed out by recapitalization using taxpayer money, that they were using other government funds from retirement accounts. Where does he get the idea that the government HAS ANY money that is not the property of the taxpayers? GOVERNMENT IS NOT A BUSINESS! I’ve said it many times before, the Irish Government only manages the finances of the people of Ireland, THE TAXPAYING PEOPLE OF IRELAND! The Irish Government does not, and never will have independent funds separate from Irish citizen taxpayer money.
Haiku of Fleeting Passions
In a culture where Metaphor and Allegory are lost in Rugby Passions, even while spoken bluntly, and perhaps crudely. When attentions spans are only extended through to the next match, change becomes the least motive action. Passions that flared misguided are now quelled in the pub, and the call for mob violence by others, regretted, the guilty remain unbridled. Nothing worthy of speech and action surmounts the desire for drink and play, and life, such that it has decayed, continues. This is Ireland!
Time for a new government in Ireland
It looks to be time to form a new government in Ireland that respects Freedom of Speech and maybe elect some new (less corrupt) politicians that respect the law, don’t take bribes of English Money, and don’t perjure themselves before a judicial tribunal. Politicians that don’t try and censor Blogs that have an opinion contrary to theirs.

Something else we didn’t know, the truth.
It looks like the truth does come out, in the end, but why are we surprised when someone does a Study: False statements preceded war about something we already knew. That the President of the United States wasn’t telling the truth. Can we impeach this administration now? Does anyone doubt the need to demonstrate to the world that America CAN be trusted again, by eliminating the liars, and restoring the trust?
More fear being seeded
It looks like more fear is being seeded as Hackers Cut Cities’ Power. So, without actually naming the cities, or the methods of ‘hacking’ the CIA is now claiming without proof that there are hackers ‘outside’ the U.S. that have shutdown power to cities, and extorted money.
So, fear, is the next best thing to the truth. Tell an American audience, that rarely hears international news, that ‘cities’ have had their power shutdown by ‘Terrorist hackers’ fully expecting that population will not know any better. In most cases the CIA would be accurate, most americans don’t have a clue what is going on in the rest of the world.
Great. What next? Hackers under the bed? Terrorist boogyman hackers under every bed in America?
Cheney and Bush seeding false treasonous information
There seems to be a great deal of information masquerading as fact as to the nature of the treasonous act that have been committed by the Bush/Cheney administration. This could be that the conspiracies are starting to unravel, or it could be, as in the George W. Bush military service controversy which brought down Dan Rather the ‘facts’ being seeded in the internet may be believable, but false, and might be cited along with real evidence of the impeachable offenses commited by them. These could have been planted so that they could be refuted, and with them, the real facts relating to treasonable acts, as needed, if and when impeachment hearing begin. The GOP has never hesitated to publish outright lie’s if they thought that they could spin them later to their own advantage. Why should this be any different? They are just laying the groundwork knowing that the many crimes against American Citizens and the Constitution of the United States will eventually come to light.
Katy French was a drug addict!
Let’s be clear here, EVERYONE knew that when she collapsed that it was drug related. Either from an overdose or due to some cheap drug dealer cutting the batch with something toxic. Katy was part of the problem, someone who appears perfect, and assumed that her partaking in illegal drug usage was her right as a celebrity. Above the law, and granted special rights. The thing is, will this lead to more celebrities being tested, of maybe minsters, lawyers and Guarda being tested. Not a chance in hell, this government is swimming in drugs it knows it, and in part, supports it, profits from it.
You will not stop the drug problem!
Until you start taking it down from the top, celebrities, minsters, lawyers and Guarda.
Guess what, you will have more luck legalizing Cocaine than arresting any of these drug users.
Fianna Fáil fail to keep their election promises,what a surprise
As is the normal modus operandi for the Fianna Fáil, they have reneged on more of their election campaign promises, when Brian (can’t balance the books) Cowen announced that the tax cuts that they used to get reelected are now renounced. Brian has a 1 BILLION Euro surplus one year, and the next, they are struggling to give themselves a 14% pay raise. Where is all that money going, there can’t be that many brown envelopes in the entire country. I guess if you do your finances out of a suitcase full of money, anything is possible.
