Thought Quotes

All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.
Alexis de Tocqueville

In the United States, the majority undertakes to supply a multitude of ready-made opinions for the use of individuals, who are thus relieved from the necessity of forming opinions of their own.
Alexis de Tocqueville

There are two things which a democratic people will always find very difficult – to begin a war and to end it.
Alexis de Tocqueville

A vote of ‘No Confidence’ for Brian Cowan

One other outcome from the Lisbon ‘No’ vote is a general presumption of a vote of ‘No Confidence’ of Brian Cowan and his government. Having set as a principal goal of his administration, a ‘Yes’ Vote for the Lisbon Treaty. The utter failure to attain this goal constitutes a complete failure of Mr. Cowan’s leadership. Couple this with his inability to present this before the EU Commission as the definitive response of the Irish People, he now seeks to nullify the voice of his own people.

It’s time now to vote directly for a ‘No Confidence’ of Brian Cowan in the Dáil.

Lisbon

Why did all the politicians believe that a constitution that had been voted down by the French, could be rename and sold to the Irish?

Why do Politicians now try to pass off the Irish No vote as not representative of the rest of the population of Europe who didn’t get to vote?

Why did the Politicians believe that a childish ‘Because it’s good for you‘ argument that doesn’t work on children, would work on the Irish Adult population?

Big questions. Questions that will never be answered by the current crop of Politicians because they don’t know any part of the Why in these questions.

I can think of a few, here’s one

A) It was only good for politicians

Hillary almost Lost Indiana

There was a time last night when trading on Hillary indicated she might loose. That does not bode well for her. In any case, maybe the voters in the Democratic Party are becoming aware She can neither win the nomination, nor the Presidential Election, should she be able to get the nomination by hook or by crook.

The advantage of pessimism

The advantage of pessimism is that you can be happily surprised by the outcome of events. The pessimist is never disappointed by the outcome of any given outcome, because they are always forecast to come out badly. So it is with great pessimism that I project that Hillary will win the Indiana Primary. I hope she looses this state, but being the pessimist I must project the worst possible outcome for the Democratic Party. She has been lying and fabricating so much lately, she has earned this prize. NOT!

Hillary’s rising fortune, floats McCain’s boat

I got an email from Intrade and read the interesting fact that as Hillary’s chances (over the last few days) for becoming the Democratic Nominee for President rise out of her previous low chances, The probability that John McCain to Win the 2008 US Presidential Election goes up also.

The specter of a Hillary nomination as the Democratic candidate, Makes the probability that McCain will be the next President greater.

This should be a serious concern for the Democratic Party, if Hillary gets nominated, McCain Wins! Call that a prediction, because it will be mine.

Hillary Lost … Honor, creditability and honesty

More or less I was correct, Hillary lost, while Boosting about starting more wars to defend the Jewish voters of Pennsylvania, she lost creditability. With the dirty politics she lost Honesty and with her Carl Rove political tricks and fear mongering she lost the last of her Honor. It’s too bad she never sees herself in the mirror, she will never see herself in the whitehouse again, except in her dreams.

Hail Brian Cowen, Prince and heir to king Bertie

Brian Cowen the anointed heir (prince) apparent of the Irish nation still can’t explain the Billion dollar surplus revenue one year and deficit the next. Heir to the man who banks out of a suitcase, and quiet keeper of skeletons in the closet, will soon take the reins of government. Is there anyone out there that might believe things will get better?

If most of the politicians in Fianna Fáil rode into government on Bertie’s coat tails, how many could ride in to it now, on Brian’s? Wouldn’t it be more democratic, if there were new elections? So that maybe, the people of Ireland could choose what government they had?

UPDATE: I’m vindicated, Brian is the Worst thing to happen to Ireland since Cromwell!

Hillary Quits!

Hillary has quit the race, Obama is now the clear winner of the Democratic Nomination for President. Rumors were circulating this morning that Hillary has decided to be a stay-at-home wife, and take care of Bill in their home in upstate New York. Her change of heart is credited with renewed sense of maternal instincts that she nurtured deep in her psyche.

Time for a new government in Ireland

It looks to be time to form a new government in Ireland that respects Freedom of Speech and maybe elect some new (less corrupt) politicians that respect the law, don’t take bribes of English Money, and don’t perjure themselves before a judicial tribunal. Politicians that don’t try and censor Blogs that have an opinion contrary to theirs.

Hillary has become a Democratic Albatross

Hillary has placed herself outside the Democratic Party and into the Ream of Carl Rove better described as the Eighth Circle of Hell where the sins of conscious fraud or treachery are sent. She is not the instrument of change in Washington, only the purveyor of status quo where insiders rule the government. The Democratic party had best get their act together, and require Hillary to drop out before the Presidential Election is decided in favor of the Republicans prior to the National conventions even begin.

Republicans are faking Hillary’s Ohio win.

Looks like Hillary’s win in Ohio was mostly a republican fake job, a GOP effort to continue the Democratic battle for the Presidential nomination. The problem is, that it works into the deluded view within the Hillary campaign that she is the best candidate to challenge McCain in November. So besides the spin that most politicians use to promote themselves, is also becoming the ‘reality’ served to the Candidate themselves. I think Hillary has convinced herself that she is the winner. Reality has nothing to do with it, where has the perspective of what is best for the Democratic Party, and the American People, gone? A conspiracy nut would think that this is is yet another deal to keep a Republican in the White House. The only thing missing would be having Dick Chaney, or George Bush as McCain’s vice presidential candidate, then we would have a complete repeat of the Russian Presidential election.
