America, now a Tyranny

Now that the U.S. is faced with the Death of Habeas Corpus: Freedom is now a distance memory. I am reminded of some favorite quotations


“If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy”

and

“Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpation”
