A Poem by Clarence J. Ballou

At the memorial for my Father, a Poem from his Grandfather.

I am now at the end of the road to the west
Where quiet reigns and all is at rest;
Away from the dust and the noise of the town,
To the end of the road where the sun goes down.

So, along life’s road as we journey on
Let us meet all our trials with a laugh and a song;
Greet all with a smile and not a frown
As we come to the end when the Sun goes down.

  1. Dear Branedy,

    You are living a certainty that we all have or will face in our lives. I still have my bridge to cross. I dread it, inevitable and all as it is. At least for now it can’t be predicted.

    I challenge your readers to reach out to one person they haven’t spoken to in a long time, to reaffirm that the purpose of the world is friendship and love.

    To Branedy, I offer the thought that there’s no consolation except the company of the people you care for. Surround yourself with them, and time will do the rest.

    With all my condolences,

    Dan
