This new message Al-Qaeda calls on US to convert and Qaeda urges Bush, non-Muslims to embrace Islam could not be better GOP propaganda than if Carl Rove wrote it himself. If the goal is to instill fear that Al-Qaeda wants to take away Christianity from the GOP base of Christian fundamentalist this is the best way to fire up them up. Scare the Fundies, upset the moderates, and paint all others as anti-Christian terrorists.
Makes you kind of wonder who wrote this, first the Fox reporters, forced to convert to Islam as a trial balloon, then get the GOP propaganda wing, Al-Qaeda to publish a new threat. Sounds like a plan to me!
UPDATE: “…Republicans are hoping for some outside event that would show the president and their party in a better light — a spate of good news from Iraq, a foiled terrorist plot …” a letter from Al-Qaeda?
Youo know sometimes the truth is just what it seems Their is no government conspricy, Lee havey Oswalled shot JFK there is no aliens in Area 51.
A long time ago I learned not to credit to conspiracies, that which could be attributed to incompetence. But I make exceptions when two players like Al-Qaeda and the Neocons live in a symbiotic relationship. Coordination of their mutual bowel movements does not require conspiratorial communion. What one expels the other uses to to their advantage, each feeding on the other. The sad part is neither can live without the other, so mutual aid is standard operating procedure. Awareness of this dependance is like a drug that thrills but does not satisfy.
With all due respect, your suggestion is ludicrous. You seem to realise as much with your 9.55 pm comment. Al-Qaeda threatens Westerners because it thinks it can make them bend to its will. This will go on long after Karl Rove has retired, perhaps until he is a forgotten footnote in the history books. Look at the big picture. I would ask you where on earth you got the idea of Bush or Republicans have tried to: “Scare the Fundies, upset the moderates, and paint all others as anti-Christian terrorists.” Bush has never brought Christianity into this issue; this al-Qaeda video and previous ones have but such suggestions have very little traction anywhere else.
Funny thing about Christianity, it allows you to commit any crime, sin to your hearts content and still be forgiven and go to heaven. Kind of handy isn’t it? Scare the Christians into believing that they will actually get punished in this world for their sins and you can get a real good reaction from the fundies from either side.
The islamic fundamentalist are really no different than the christian fundies, after all the KKK were a christian creation. And who’s hands are bloodier, The Catholic inquisition, or the Jihad’s?
Bush has always brought Christianity into the picture with his ‘born again’ revelations, of listening to GOD to save the Iraqis. And his use of Islamofascism to describe the ‘Enemy’
I look at a vastly bigger picture than you realize. Why don’t you?
