Brian Lenihan, should be fired! Plain and simple, because he does NOT understand the terms or meaning of GOVERNMENT. Today in an interview he mentioned that the banks were not being bailed out by recapitalization using taxpayer money, that they were using other government funds from retirement accounts. Where does he get the idea that the government HAS ANY money that is not the property of the taxpayers? GOVERNMENT IS NOT A BUSINESS! I’ve said it many times before, the Irish Government only manages the finances of the people of Ireland, THE TAXPAYING PEOPLE OF IRELAND! The Irish Government does not, and never will have independent funds separate from Irish citizen taxpayer money.
Classic Republican Hypocrisy
If this doesn’t reek of classic Republican Hypocritical behavior nothing will when Republicans criticize Obama aides’ silence. They are criticizing from a government that that has epitomized non-transparent obscuration and political spin on every subject in the past. It makes one wonder just how stupid the American Public are, of maybe were. After all, they are no longer in control, and with this kind of ignorance and arrogance, will never be again.
Irish Meat Denial
- All the pork recalled before the farms using the contaminated feed are identified.
- Pork producers offering to refill the supplies without testing the pigs first
- Declaring that the irish beef is safe after they discovered contaminated cows and before testing all the cattle.
This is a prescription for Irish disaster, the lack of transparency , the denial and the coverup. Typical Fianna Fáil behavior.

Then why the targeting of Americans, and British? Something does not ring true here. This is a guise for something more, a threat of Jehad with a mask of righteous religious zeal? Something, it’s not clear, and early pronouncements of it’s cause, premature.

Outside of the blatant Anti-Science attacks like Sarah Palin’s War on Science! There are more subtle attacks, a smearing of Science research that undermines Science such as this article; The world’s smelliest magnets I call BS on these sort of studies, any farmer knows that cows face away from the Sun when grazing. No Magnets involved. But the assertion is that this is what constitutes ‘Science’. The attempt is to make a mockery of more Hard Core Scientific Research. Science has a hard enough time getting funding, but to allow anyone to point at magnet cows as an example of ‘Fundamental Scientific Research’ undermines all scientific research. So the next time you muse at a ‘Scientific Study’ of why Men find red-clad women hotter you will know that you are being manipulated against Science.
The wounded (GOP) animal is very dangerous
With the Presidential contest going down the tubes for the Republican (GOP) party, and the potential to lose majority, and even filibuster control of both houses of Congress. The GOP is coming off as a wounded animal and wounded animals are very dangerous. They can attack Iran, swing to radical right and declare independance from the union. They can assasinate opposition, declare martial law and suspend elections.
And that’s just if they want to be open about it.

Data mining Terrorism
I have been, and will continue to be amused about the Storm over Big Brother database. Amused because I know ultimately that it will fail to stop terrorism, but also that I know how easily such a system can be overwhelmed into oblivion. The only reason for these databases is for political control, not for protection, but political gain. Security Theater, and nothing more.
Consider for a minute, should someone discover a method to product Weapons of Mass Destruction out of say, peanut butter. A database would have to track the purchase and use of every gram of peanut butter, and latter peanuts, raw and roasted, and then farmers who could grow peanuts. The data would grow exponentially and it wouldn’t find anyone who could or does produce WMD’s from peanut butter. It wouldn’t even be able to detect that the Peanut butter Bomb was a hoax.
McCain releases Racist Jeni and tears country apart.
McCain has released the Racist Jeni and is tearing the United States apart. This news comes as McCain booed after trying to calm anti-Obama crowd. He and his co-conspirator Sara Palin have, with full knowledge, released this monster on the American people out of desperation, and are gleefully soaking up it’s benifits. There has always been a racist vein running through American culture, but now that white america is faced with becoming the minority on this planet, the prospect of being lead by ‘one of them’ has become vicious.
Oil price fantasies
Listening to RTE this morning I was struck by a fantasy spoken about Aer Lingus. It’s a fantasy repeated often with all the economic crisis issues going on, the fantasy;

Oil prices going down is a fantasy! There is no motovation, nor reason for oil prices to drop a significant amount to make a difference. Oil is a supply and demand issue, and will stay high, with MAYBE a minor drop in price in the near term. At least until the next price rise some where in the area of 150$ a barrel by next summer.
The one thing that seems to be forgotten is that oil is a finite resource that has been subsidized to remain low, like heroin, we have become addicted and completely dependent. And when we seek to ween ourselves off it to renewables, the price is reduced to make the switch too expensive.
Oil is running out, and will continue to rise, and no fantasy will dilute that reality.
Delusional greed in the financial sector
At a previous position, I worked with a major financial company. Insurance, investing, retirement and what not. And while attending a meeting with the business ‘customers’ of the ID department. I was nearly physically sickened by their use of the terminology ‘manufacturing a new product’. This is a financial institute, not a manufacture of real products. So when they created a product they meant a paper house contract. The sickening part was how they declare how much money the company would make from the future ‘customers’ of the product. Not that the ‘customer’ wouldn’t have earned some modest income from the ‘product’, it was just that the vast majority of any profits would go to the company, with the customer taking all of the risks. More over, the ‘creator’ of this new product would be richly rewarded in advance of any company profits from the product hence creating a motivation to ‘create’ more of these types of ‘products’. Greed, promoting Delusions that reward more greed. This is true nature of the financial issues we face and any congressman claiming market forces will fix the problems is blind AND stupid and otherwise, just a fool, and should be removed from office.
